YELLOW RIBBON PROGRAM
Some things in life are free. And you deserve it.
In recognition of your selfless service in operations Iraqi Freedom or Enduring Freedom, Lipscomb University is participating in the Yellow Ribbon Program at the highest level. That means free tuition for eligible military veterans and/or their families who wish to earn an undergraduate degree and significant discounts toward a graduate degree. Lipscomb’s faculty, staff and administrators are committed to help you prepare for the next chapter of your life.
Lipscomb’s Yellow Ribbon Program
If you qualify for 100 percent of the Post-9/11 GI Bill, Lipscomb University will match dollar-for-dollar the federal government aid provided through the Yellow Ribbon Program. This will allow you to earn an undergraduate Lipscomb degree tuition-free or a graduate degree at a greatly reduced tuition rate.
In addition to the student programs and activities offered at Lipscomb University, a variety of services have been specially designed for veterans on campus.
•
The Veterans Liaison Office is the point of contact on campus for students and works to facilitate your transition from military life to university life.
•
A veterans student group affords students the opportunity to meet fellow veterans on campus and provides recreational and educational activities.
Veterans Career Development Center
Lipscomb University’s Career Development Center offers a special program to facilitate your transition to the civilian job market. They can help you highlight your military experience on your resume and connect you to employers in the Nashville area and across the country. The Post-9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act 2008
The Post-9/11 GI Bill is an education benefit program for individuals who served on active duty on or after Sept. 11, 2001, and is administered by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs. Based on your length of service, you may be eligible to receive the cost of tuition and fees, not to exceed the most expensive in-state institution of higher education (paid to the university).
You are also entitled to a percentage of
• Monthly housing allowance equal to the basic allowance for housing payable to a military E-5 with dependents, in the same zip code as your school (paid to you);
• Yearly book and supplies stipend of up to $1,000 per year (paid to you); and
• A one-time payment of $500 paid to certain individuals relocating from highly rural areas.
